About Our Pastor

Our Pastor, Steve Amburgey, is originally from Kentucky but now is a resident of Buckingham County. He accepted Jesus at the age of 17 and was called to ministry at the age of 19.  His training includes a bachelor’s degree in Pastoral Ministry at Liberty University and Two master’s degrees from Liberty Theological Seminary, along with a lot of church experience. He is Currently pursuing his Doctor of Ministry degree at Liberty. Pastor Steve was ordained to the gospel ministry in 1994. He has served in ministry in various capacities throughout the years, 16 years as a Senior Pastor. He was called to Centenary Church in December 2022. He has a passion for teaching the Bible and for the local church. He also serves as the Area Director for Fellowship of Christian Athletes in South Central Virginia.

Pastor Steve is married to the love of his life, Dana, and has four sons, three daughters in laws, and three grandchildren. He enjoys sports, especially his favorite teams, University of Kentucky basketball and football and the Las Vegas Raiders. He also enjoys playing Fantasy Football and hanging out with his family.  He loves God with all his heart and loves people unconditionally.
